Better Campuses, Stronger Communities

WHEREAS inadequate post-secondary funding is leaving students behind and jeopardizing necessary student services and university programs;

WHEREAS post-secondary institutions have resorted to exponentially increasing recruitment for international students and forcing international students to foot the bill for the loss of government funding;

AND WHEREAS students, faculty, campus support workers have seen cuts and reduction to various programs, services and support systems system wide;

We, the undersigned, call upon the university boards of governors to pass a motion and call upon the Ontario Government to immediately:

1. Increase annual investment into post-secondary education in-lieu of increasing tuition fees of all students, including international students;
2. Ensure campuses receive consistent and stable funding year-over-year ensure students have access to campus services and supports that they need; and
3. End the predatory recruitment practices of international students and ensure support to all students regardless of status as they pursue their studies.
